Oil on wood, 155 x 112 cm. 2000.

The turtle historically symbolizes the ability to protect one self. Kolby in this self-portrait chose to protect the protected. The dogs symbolize the outer threat, who at any time could attack - due to the thin leashes they are held in. Who is holding back the dogs is not clear, and the threat is therefore an anonymous one.
