This canvas is thematically attached to "The Angelwing", but can be seen separately as well. The little child sits in a room that could be an office, with large wounds where it’s angelwings have been torn off. The expression of the body is troubled, with the lifted shoulder as to protect itself from the environment.

Throughout the history of art these little angels have symbolised the sincerity of God, and mostly they have been presented in graceful harmonious postures. With his angel, Kolby wanted to make a contrast to this appearance by painting the angel abused and violated sitting on a desk. Without the glory and elegance attached to these messengers of God, the artist again creates a controversial motive, using an archetype in an unusual context.
